Human tower heroes.
Work for Air Berlin's inflight magazine.
The human towers (known in Catalan as "Castells”) have become part of the identity of Catalan people and one of the most important cultural traditions in Catalonia, Spain, for more than 200 years. The teams are made of between 100 to 500 women and men try to build the higher human tower posible. Young and light members form the top of the tower while heavier members form the base. For their success, a crowded and stunning base of hundreds of people needs to be previously perfectly set up In 2010, UNESCO declared the "Castells" a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
